By Alex Padro

On Thursday, November 17, 2005, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Kennedy Recreation Center, 1410 7th Street, NW, the DC Department of parks and Recreation will hold a public meeting to gather input for the department's five year agency master plan.
Come meet DPR's new executive staff and participate in a discussion regarding the five-year agency master plan. This master plan will serve as a framework for agency decisions regarding programs, facilities, and parks in the near future. The completed plan will provide
analyses and recommendations for DPR's recreation facilities and parks citywide. Public input is crucial to defining agency priorities.
If recreation facilities and parks are important to you, please make an effort to participate in this meeting and provide your input. Whether your concerns are about getting the water play area at Kennedy Recreation Center built (it was left out of the final plans for construction due to budgetary considerations), getting a dog park in the neighborhood, ensuring funding for programs at Kennedy and Shaw Recreation Centers, maintenance of the many pocket parks in our neighborhood, or other issues, this is your opportunity to put your opinions on the table.
More information on the plan is available online at www.bakerprojects.com/dprmasterplan or call Leslie Schill, Chief of Planning at the Department of Parks and Recreation at 202-673-2033 or email Leslie.Schill@dc.gov.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
