JOB VACANCY
POSITION: 2007 Summer Internship Program (23 positions--2 law student positions)


DESCRIPTION: Internships involving clerical work, filling in for employees, assistance with special projects, and general office work.

Please specify the office(s) in which you wish to work.
Budget Office, Clerk's Office, Curator's Office, Publications Unit, Data Systems, Police Office, Library Personnel Office, Marshal's Office Public Information Office, Reporter of Decisions

Qualifications - All Offices:
1. Successful completion of at least one year of college education.
2. Work experience, preferably in an office setting. Preference will be
given to applicants whose experience relates to the work of the
office(s) to which they apply.
3. Availability for at least eight weeks.
4. Employment is subject to successful completion of a security
background check.

Additional Qualifications/Requirements for Specific Offices:
Budget Office: Detail oriented with an interest in Accounting or Budget
and Human Resources (benefits); clerical and computer skills
appreciated.
Curator's Office: Interest in history, museum work, research skills and
experience in public speaking or customer service. Applicants must
submit two letters of recommendation.
Data Systems: Hands-on experience and interest in computer applications,
particularly hardware/software set-up and installation.
Publications Unit, Data Systems: Team-oriented, to work in printing and
e-publishing. Web data formatting, data conversion, and customer service
skills a plus. Shift flexibility.
Some heavy lifting. Start May 14 (preferred) or May 29.
Library: Two positions available. One requires library graduate student
or law student with library work experience.
Marshal's Office: Prior background in dealing with the public. Ability
to speak well, perform under pressure and deal with high level
government officials and dignitaries.
Public Info Office: Interest in journalism/communications, public
relations and the law and writing experience.
Reporter of Decisions: Law student with editing experience.

SALARY: SCP-4/1 ($12.71 p/hr) for all interns, except for law students,
SCP-7/1 ($17.62 p/hr).
